Hello, I have posted on this forum before and have received some very helpful recommendations. My Alaska trip is up in June, so thought I'd get some feedback before finalizing plans and making hotel reservations.
Ok so here is the plan so far:
Day 1: Arriving late at night.
Overnight at Anchorage
Day 2: Drive to Seward. Exit Glacier. Sealife Center. Kenai Fjords NP.
Overnight at Seward.
Day 3. Kenai Fjords NP
Overnight at Seward or Girdwood if there is time to drive up.
Day 4. Explore Girdwood. Top of Alyeska. Russian River Falls hike. Alaska Wildlife Center.
Overnight at Girdwood.
Day 5. Prince William Sound Day Cruise. (Is this a good choice or are there any recommendations for day cruises from Seward?)
Overnight at Anchorage or Talkeenta if there is time.
Day 6: Flights from Talkeenta. Denali NP if time permits.
Overnight at Healy.
Day 7: Denali NP.
Drive back to Anchorage for midnight flight out of ANC.
Wondering if this would be a doable plan?
Your input is greatly appreciated!

Hi zatram, some suggestions,
Switch days 4 & 5, once you get to Seward, do everything you want to there before driving back to Girdwood, it is a long trip.
I've done 3 different day cruises out of Seward they are a lot of fun.
The Alaska Wildlife Center is worthwhile. The parking and access to the Russian River trailhead may be very crowded at this time of year.
Investigate activities and flightseeing opportunities out of Denali, it is 5 hours by car from Anchorage, and private vehicles are not allowed in the park unless you have already obtained one of the randomly drawn permits issued by the park. The park is huge. I would not recommend touring the park and then driving to Anchorage, that will be an extremely long, hard day. I would skip Kenai Fjords NP on day 3 and add that to time in Denali.
If you have not reserved lodging yet, do so soon. It tends to book up. Even in Seward.
Have fun.
You have problems with this plan. You have underestimated your time, needed for Denali Park and have no mention of getting IN the park?? Otherwise there is no use in even using all the time to get there. You need two nights at Denali Park AND the shuttle bus IN to the park to at least Eielson.

So, you may want to consider cutting out a day prior?
In Seward- you mention "Kenai Fjords", are you referring to a boat cruise? Otherwise you aren't going to get into Kenai Fjords.
Prince William Sound boat tours are excellent and very different from Kenai Fjords boat tours. I would instead suggest you consider this your last day. Day trip from Anchorage, could any of the boat tours, and go direct to the airport after a dinner. Could make better use of your time.
I'm assuming you are going in 2012??? You are very late if it's for 2011.
Thank you LyndaM12 and BudgetQueen for your input.
The trip was actually in June this year, from 8th to the 15th. I started putting this trip together fairly late, around the last week of May. Travel forums such as these have been of enormous help.
Got back last week, had an amazing time. Hope to post a trip report soon. Thanks.
