50th Birthday Party: Need Awesome Restaurant and a Show

Jump to last reply

My family (6 adults, 2 young adults ages 18 and 21) will be going to Las Vegas to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. We will be staying at the Mirage. The Mirage was selected because of the lower price than the Bellagio, where my sister would have preferred to stay.

Now it is time to pick a restaurant for the birthday party and pick a good show.

Someone has suggested the restaurant at the Bellagio, sort of to make up for the fact that some family members couldn't afford to stay at the Bellagio. I have volunteered to do some research and see if that restaurant is the best choice. I am hoping the folks here can help me.

We would be looking for a great meal, and we would be willing to spend to get it. Family members would not appreciate French food or any cuisine that is too far "out there." At the same time, we don't want a Mortons-style steak house, because that isn't quite so memorable. Sushi is out. Any suggestions on where we can get a memorable meal with a variety of options and and cool surroundings?

Second, we need to pick a show. Suggestions so far are Penn and Teller, Cirque Soleil, and something involving acrobatics and water. What is the hot show these days? Our group has some conservative Christians, so we can't do anything, erm, bawdy.

Thanks!!
