40th Birthday/ romance

My husband and I have a pass to go away for four nights at the end of October while my parents fly across the county to watch the kids. We moved to Wa state from Boston last August. We have four nights in the continental US- where should we go?? We are thinking we want to stay on the west coast. We thought about Vegas, but we don't gamble- still could be fun right? Maybe stay at the Wynn and see a show. Thought about Santa Fe- I got a video and didn't get too excited- California? We just spent some time in Laguna beach, but we have never been to Santa Monica or Sonoma. We love the beach, warm weather, spas, good food....not that we need a reason to celebrate, but it will be my 40th birthday. Any suggestions?

In addition to San Francisco, it's also great in Carmel/ Monterey/ Pacific Grove.

Fly into Phoenix. Drive to Sedona, and spend 2 nights there. Drive to the Grand Canyon and spend a night or two there.

You will not be disappointed.

Vegas is fun for the shows, restaurants, spas, world class hotels and shopping whether you gamble or not. Walking the strip is an experience whether you pull the arm on a slot machine or not. Day trips to Hoover Dam or air tours to Grand Canyon are an option as well.
