A friend and I arrive in Minn/St. Paul via Amtrak on a Thursday night and are spending 24 hours. Date: 5/14-5/15. What should we do? We have a hotel in downtown Minn. for the night, but need to figure out how to spend the day. No baseball in town as far as I can find. Any other ideas? We aren't museum people.
Good, fun bars in the Amtrak area? We like having games to play and things to do, more divey places than fancy. We know we'll have a couple hours to kill before the train leaves at 11 pm.
Thanks so much!

You will be lucky if the Amtrak arrives on time. I wouldn't plan anything definite.
There is always Mall of America. Think there is bus service to the mall from downtown.
There is always Nicollet Avenue. There is info on the following website.

The Amtrak station is in St. Paul, not Minneapolis and its really in the middle of pretty much nowhere. So first you'll have to get to your hotel in downtown Minneapolis and back. There are plenty of places in downtown Minneapolis for fun. You can just walk the Nicolett Mall or Hennepin Ave. for night life. Shopping is great. Try the Saks 5th Ave. store which is all discount/outlet stuff or Marshalls. Macy's always has great sales.
