2012 CMA Festival Accommodation

I just found this forum and as we are coming to the states next year I thought I would drop a line to see if anyone could give me some info.

We are in Australia and coming to the CMA Festival. We would like to stay somewhere close to the stadium and the river. There are 3 of us and I wonderded if anyone knows of accommodation that would have 2 bedrooms? Maybe a unit or something? It will only be for the 4 or 5 nights.

Any suggestions on who to approach or where to look would be appreciated.

BTW I have a country music website itscountry.com.au (don't forget the .au for Australia) and I hope to write about the festival there and include some info. Please take a look at what is happening with country music in Australia!

look forward to hearing from ... anyone !! thanks.

Hi takenotice. Location-wise, you probably want to stay downtown; this will put you in walking distance of everything related to the festival, as well as the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman, and all the honky-tonks. Since quite a few streets will be closed during that time, getting into the area from somewhere else in town will be more of a hassle than usual.

I'm not aware of any apartment-style places in the area (it's possible there are some, but I'd be surprised), but some of the hotels might have suites, if that would suit you. I would go ahead and check. Nashville is a very popular place to be that week! The Hilton on 4th Avenue South would be a great location, if it works for you in terms of space; it's very close to Broadway, the Hall of Fame, and the pedestrian bridge across the river to the stadium.

You might look at the downtown Homewood Suites; I think it would come closest to filling your needs. And I think the downtown Hampton Inn and Suites is VERY close to the pedestrian bridge and an easy walk to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the arena, and lower Broadway. It's a very nice property.

You're exactly right, musicfan - I'd forgotten about the Hampton Inn. It's a block south of the Hilton, so just a tad further from the bridge and Broadway (but still very close). The Homewood Suites isn't in quite as ideal a location for the festival, but still definitely walkable to what you'd need to do. It's also very close to Puckett's Grocery, which has really good Southern food.

I should have got onto this earlier! everything has gone in those two hotels. So if anyone can suggest anything else please let me know. We will have to give up on a suite I think, there are three of us 1 couple and a single but we could all share a room for a week!

I know it is a long way off but we are excited already!

Cheers
Sue

Sorry about that...I should have mentioned at the time of my post that you should make a reservation asap, but it probably would not have made any difference. I will suggest that, if you were just checking online for availabilty, you call the hotels directly and speak to a live person; I have gotten rooms at properties that showed as sold out online by doing this.

Another suggestion to try...the Marriott Courtyard downtown. They have suites (I stayed in one once), and it is in a comparable location to the Homewood.

Thanks Musicfan

We 'reserved' a room at the Renaissance - it is one room with two beds so that will have to do if all else fails.

I did think that they must have cancellations so it would be a good idea to call. I will try for a suite at the Marriott Courtyard and maybe ask their cancellation policy. I noticed there is a newish hotel called Indigo which looks like it is in a good position.

Whatever happens, we do have somewhere to stay and I am sure we will have a great time

Hotel Indigo is indeed in a good location. I've only been in the lobby, which is relatively swanky for Nashville, but hopefully the rooms follow suit. Really any of the downtown hotels will be fine as long as they have good reviews and the space configuration you're looking for.

Glad you have somewhere to stay at least! Hopefully the suites work out for you.
