We arrive in ABQ on Oct. 9 through the 14th. Staying at the Marriott Pyramid. What Park and Ride would be the closest to that Marriott? Also, would like to buy advance tickets for the Park and Ride and admission. When do you find out if they are flying or not? When you are there? Thanks for your help.

Your hotel does have a concierge that can answer your questions on a more timely basis. http://www.yelp.com/biz/albuquerque-marriott-pyramid-north-albuquerque
It will still be worth your time if you got there early in the morning and they couldn't fly.
Visit Sandia Peak if you get the chance. The arboretum, aquarium and zoo at the west end of town are also worth a visit.
Thank you for the info Tom. I do intend to ask the concierge but I was wondering about it now. All of the places you mentioned are on my to do list. We are also making a side trip to Santa Fe for the day. I am just hoping that we have beautiful balloon-flying weather. It's our first time so we are really looking forward to it. Thanks again.
You are actually very close to the park. The only park and ride on the west side would take you further away from the hotel and then back again to the park.
The closest one would be the one at Cliffs. You would get on the southbound frontage road, eh I is alongside the hotel. Take it to San Mateo and then make a left onto San Mateo and Cliffs will be on your right. Again, your are going away from the hotel and then will go back to the park.
You are so close, I would drive to the park directly if it were me.
You can watch the news (channel 4) and get info but the decision is often made just before launch time, if is iffy. If it is still, no wind, it should be a go. If the winds are up, they will try to hold off canceling, hoping for them to die down. Dress in layers, have a breakfast burrito, a cinnamon bun and hot chocolate while you wait for the launch. Check out the arts and crafts fair that is under the huge tent almost directly next to the hotel.
