1st Time in Lake Tahoe - Help with Hotel

My wife and I are going to Lake Tahoe the last week of January 2007 for the first time. We were looking for accommodations at the Ridge Tahoe Resort throughout their web page, and they are offering a Ridge Crest – 1 Bed Executive Suite and Ridge Point – 1 Bed Executive Suite. Does anyone know the difference between Ridge Crest and Ridge Point? Of course, I am not very familar with the area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

These are timeshare condos, no? They are located up off 207 which is the Kingsbury grade. You will have to drive everywhere. It is high above the lake. What were you wanting in regards to your accommodations

Thank you for your attention and cooperation. This is our first ski trip, therefore, we would like to be in a Hotel with a ski in / ski out facility. We understand that Ridge Tahoe has a gondola in their resort. We are going to rent a car, therefore the 3 mile distance from the casinos and everything else should not be a problem. By the way, we arrive late in Reno, therefore we intent to rent the car in South Lake Tahoe and not at the airport. Do you know the South Tahoe Express? It is okey to take this shuttle form the airport to the casino area in South Lake Tahoe?

Have you considered the Marriott Timber Lodge in South Tahoe? http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/RNOTL We stayed there one time (but not for skiing). It is a nice property, with shopping, casinos, and best of all - a gondola to take you skiing just outside the door, literally. There is also an Embassy Suites in the immediate vicinity.

Thank you for your information. I considered but, unfortunately, they only have Villas with two bedroom available for the dates we are going to Lake Tahoe.

Best regards,
