Where to Vacation in August?

Hi All,

My husband and I both 30 and 31 are looking to take a vacation in August from a Friday-Wednesday. We live close to newark airport so traveling is pretty convenient from there. We will be cruising in March in the Caribbean and visiting family in California in July. We love adventure, sightseeing, visiting spas, beaches, dinner & wine, and some down time. I know this may be vague to start, but Im really just looking for some help coming up with ideas for trips to start considering and comparing. Would love to hear your recommendations and ideas! Thanks so much!

Which part of California in July? Any chance you can continue your CA time and just come home around August 1?
There's plenty to see in CA without flying back home to NJ and then taking off again in August.

I wish we could, however my husband has to be back for his MBA class that falls on Thursdays in the summer. We are out in California at least 2 times a year because my husbands family lives in Northern CA.

You can't get it wrong with staying in the Whitetop space. Great fly fishing on Wilson Creek and other streams that come back speeding out of the Virginia Highlands. In August, the wild blueberries will be out at Grayson Highlands State Park. Hike, see wild ponies and eat blueberries - it does not get abundant better than that!
