Where to go in February/March

Husband and I (mid 50s) would like to go away for a week around the end of February or beginning of March to escape the Michigan winter.

We'd like to stay at a hotel with beautiful beach views and balconies and great pools. But after a couple of days of lounging at the beach/pool we get restless, so we'd also like a place that has historical/cultural sites and museums to visit. We're not into night life or gourmet dining. Right now we're considering Puerto Rico. I'd love comments as to whether that would give us what we're looking for as well as suggestions of other places.

I'll also be posting this on the Caribbean board. Thanks!

Only a week? Hope that you don't come home to another foot of snow to shovel.
My idea for what it's worth: Fly to San Francisco and then see the historic parts and museums. Fly onward to Honolulu. Spend 2-3 days there. Fly back to Los Angeles (or San Diego).
Fly home from Los Angeles.

In February I took trains to and from Tucson. I was only gone from Oregon for a week. It was 85*F when I left Yuma on 2/10.
