In the Fodor's travel tech column, most of our articles have focused on collections of travel-oriented gadgets that share a common theme. Not that there's anything wrong with writing about all the apps and gizmos that make travel a little more easy, fun and interesting. But since Fodor's is all about "travel intelligence," we want to make sure we're also offering tips and techniques related to travel technology. So...please let us know what you'd like us to focus on!
What gadget and travel-related situations or questions do you have? Would you like to hear about what criteria to keep in mind when choosing a specific gadget? How to use and get the most out of particular (features on) devices? How technology can help solve a certain issue?
We're happy to impart whatever travel technology advice we can. Whether or not your idea/suggestion makes it into an article, we'll do our best to answer every person who posts. And obviously, feel free to relate your own experiences with devices. It's a dialogue, after all!

I've never read that column, so I went and had a look. All I can say is, you must be writing for people on road trips. All that grooming stuff? You have got to be kidding me! I do multi-month international trips with one carry-on size wheelie or backpack (which I check when flying), and a small day bag for the "must not be checked" stuff. There is no way I'm going to load myself down with that kind of junk. Since JAL got my luggage wet I don't even take a hair dryer anymore - most places these days have one.
If you want to write about apps, some of that MIGHT be useful, although I'd rather use my storage for something to read.
I don't travel with any "gadgets" or "tech" anything. The entire concept really cracks me up. So to answer your question, basically there's nothing you'd write that I'd read

Here are a couple:
How to deal with long layovers
Weather conditions at upcoming stops
Best options for getting to and from the airport
Snagging last minute bargains on airfare and hotels
Top 10 experiences in a new destination
Common scams at various destinations
Low cost or free attractions or experiences
Ways to save on exchanging money and ground transport
Best value for the money restaurants
What does that list have to do with "gadgets"?
I'd like tips on how to make the very best use of my iphone during trips.

As a recent convert to iPad information on travel related apps, how to access free wifi easily ( never as easy as it probably should be , but maybe that is just me!). Also a very specific problem, - why is it that my iPad charger won't work with a standard travel adaptor forcing me to shell out £35 for an Apple travel adaptor, most of which I will probably never use!
Hi crellston, bit puzzled by that. Do you mean the 10w USB power adapter? The white square thing? I though that came with the iPad.
I just used a standard plug adaptor on my iPad charger's plug, only a few dollars, all through Europe and Asia.
I also never read that column before!
Is there something on best/cheapest options for backing up your photos online?
I never read that column either.
I take my smart phone, my nook, and maybe my Samsung tablet on trips. Other than that, not really any gadgets.
My recommendation after a quick scan of the column - more information about aps that aren't i-specific.
Hi Thursdaysd , yes I did mean the white square thing. However , upon return, I realised that I had taken the white square thing for my I POD which, as it turns out, cannot be used to charge an iPad!!! Seems to work ok with a standard adaptor and the correct charger. Oh we'll....
