All of above plus I take one bag that you can suck the air out of and compress my clothes. I wear layers and try to keep to a couple of basic colors so I can mix everything. I wear my heaviest shoes and pack a lighter pair. Smart wool socks, I wash out in sink and hang to dry. I have one pair of knee highs and the rest are short. Last but not least, zip bags and zip ties. I love to shop at markets and they are great for leftovers. Zip ties for my suitcase when I leave the hotel room and travel. A small pair of nail clippers cuts them but you know if someone messed with your luggage.

If you're going out of the country then you'll want to make sure you have the proper adapter/plugs for electrical outlets, so that you can charge your phone/camera/ipad, ect...

Happy travels!

jaysamuel do you know the same woman I do?
"and most important thing luggage"

She actually walked out her front door, past her luggage neatly waiting there, jumped in the waiting car and was off to the airport.

Her first vacation day was spent shopping.

Agree with all the above, but I always pack Clorox wipes to wipe my plane seat and hotel rooms down.

It might help to make note of what you use on a daily basis and be sure to make sure that you pack that if it's not certain that you can buy it at your destination.
