Trip Ideas: Preferrably in Europe
I am looking for suggestions on where to travel next. I would like to visit a culturally interesting place that can reasonably be seen in a week. I have been to Rome, Paris, and London and am out of must-see spots. I am looking for the same or similar cultural experience.

- Barcelona (or maybe a Barcelona/Madrid combo) would probably be my first choice.
- Florence (with maybe a short trip to Siena or elsewhere in the region) would be a good choice too.
- I like Berlin, but not sure I'd devote a full week. However, if you are into bar-hopping, the gallery scene, etc, then Berlin would be a good choice.
- Don't think Copenhagen really holds enough interest for a full week.

I would echo Barcelona / Madrid.
If you do Copenhagen, you can make it a very interesting trip by taking the train across the bridge into Sweden. First stop is Malmo, third largest town. Cheap trip.
Also, there is an overnight ferry (company: DFDS) from Copenhagen to Oslo. Oslo is a great town, the ferry ticket is pretty cheap for foot passengers, you can even do it just as a 'day' trip with two nights on board and 12 hours ashore in Oslo. The ferries are more like cruise ships. It is a very pretty trip, especially as you come into Oslo.

If you are just thinking Europe, one week will give you a substantial feel for these truly exceptional cities:
Amsterdam
Barcelona
Berlin
One week is a little too much for these (also wonderful) cities:
Brussels
Edinburgh
Lisbon
Madrid
Prague
Stockholm
And even if you've already been there, Paris just has so much you can always go back and fill in things you missed the first 3 or 4 trips.
Cheers!

Have to disagree. I spent six days there a couple of years back, and I'm returning for another six days next month.

Not sure how a week could be too much to spend in any real city. Here's what I'd do in Berlin: Sachsenhausen concentration camp, the Museum Island, the palace grounds in Potsdam, Kastanienallee and Kollwitzplatz in Prenlauerberg, clubs etc in Neukoeln and Kreuzberg, more museums near the TU in SW Berlin...
But if it was me I'd go to Rome and Pompeii or bike around Lake Constance.
