Sugar comes in all types of forms. Do you mean the white refined sugar? You cannot eliminate all forms of sugar from your diet because your body does require it for normal function.

If you want to cut out the white refined stuff, an appointment with a Registered Dietician at your local hospital may be a more practical start. You may need a referral from your physician. Also, check with hospitals near where you live. Some offer a lot of community education programs - most for free.

The staff at spas invariably have no legitimate medical training and the advice they give you may not be based on sound medical evidence.

Good god. Just stop eating the stuff if you want to cut out refined sugar. Not hard. It's not heroin.

You also need to cut out sodas - switch to water - and many processed foods - read the labels. I'm with nona1 - why do you need to go somewhere? I just cut out cheese, which I love, along with other sat fats, simply by not buying it any more.

I have cut back on sugar - not cut it out completely because I like sweet stuff. It is a change, but I like like any lifestyle change, if you take it step by step and stay commited, you will be successful. Unless of course you have a major medical issue that requires a special diet, in which case a nutritionist should be your first stop. But if you just want to eat better and have less refined sugar, cut things out a bit at a time until you are where you want to be.

november_moon - I'm not sure whether giving things up slowly works. It certainly didn't work for me with cigarettes - I had to go cold turkey. And I just went cold turkey with sat fats. But I did cut out sugar in my coffee in two stages (I had been using two spoonfuls).
