Should I use a travel agent?
I am getting ready to start booking a two (2) week trip to Germany next year. For past trips to Europe, I have worked with a local travel agent to book hotels, transfers, rental cars etc. For this trip I am considering making these bookings myself via the internet. I am looking for tips, or other members feedback/experiences (both good & bad) on making these bookings themselves versus utilizing a travel agent.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I depend on Internet these days. Everything is quick and just a click away.
From Flight booking to Hotel stay.. and even planning a most of my stayaway vacations from the reviews that I come across Internet has helped a lot in my travel decisions

I have always booked my own trips, never had a problem. But then I have never used a travel agent to be able to compare the experiences.
I think the decision is more about your own comfort level. My personal theory is that no one cares more about my trip than I do, so I can likely outdo even a travel professional in matching what I want with what I get.

It really depends on your experience and knowledge. If you are a detailed person, who can think through all the ins and outs (cancellations, knowing the good from the bad, having a Plan B in case something goes wrong, insurance, schedules, directions. Etc.) then by all means book on the Internet. I've done it for decades....but I used to be a TA so have a good background.
