Scandanavia-tour recommendations?

Anyone have recommendations for Scandanavian tours?
Couple, 50's, already know about tauck & odysseys.
Any opinions as to group touring (in Scandanavia) verses booking our own hotel & transportation and joining day tours? I'm not sure about renting a car but we are fine with rail and ferry travel. Although the thought of doing my own itinerary is daunting...
Help, please?
