Planning 2 month trip

I am planning 2 month well earned vacation
I would like some place quiet, relaxing, set in greenery and hills. Low crowd and budget type location. The places I am thinking are Hawai, Canada west coast, Spain etc.
I am vegetarian and will will find difficult to survie without diverse fod option.
Any suggestions ?
I may also be interested in some kind of ecotourism or some volunteer type of work.
TIA

How budget? I don't think of Hawaii and Canada as budget destinations! More Asia. Or south or eastern Europe.

This board doesn't get much action, you'll get more responses if you post on the various destination-specific boards.

Twice I have done a week of volunteer work for the Passport in Time program of the US Forest Service. This spring I will be on another project in the Gifford Pinchot NF south of Mt. Ranier. http://www.passportintime.com/
If you can cook for yourself and have camping gear, it can be fun and rewarding work.

My top 4 for R&R/cheap volunteering

ninoshotel.com Cusco Peru beautiful helping street kids
guanguiltagua.com Ecuador [email protected]

for the US

konaweb.com stayhawaii.com alternative-hawaii.com

in winter/early spring for less rain Costa Rica

montanalinda.com
latortugafeliz.com

Do be careful with all the scammers one should not have to pay middlemen large sums to "volunteer". The greatest need
area currently is doctorswithoutborders.org in Haiti where
we can really make a difference expenses paid for me last
plus a stipend but not for the faint of heart.
www.hh4honduras.org another place of great need I have helped.

Happy Hunting PM if needed many do.

Greatly appreciate all the feedback.
Doctors without borders looks definitely interesting but I am a Project manager with IT experience.
Thanks

I love Hawaii. I'd think I'd died and gone to heaven to spend 2 months there. It doesn't have to be expensive if you "live like a local". Especially on Oahu, around Honolulu/Waikiki there are reasonable apartment rentals you could get. If you're happy going to the beach, touring the island, using public transportation, hiking, biking, etc. there's no reason for it to be a budget-buster.

if your budget is not that big or only suit for your 2 month vacation i suggest
choose Asian country,it is cheaper and fun to visit.
like in the Philippines
there's a lot of fun and excitement you'll experience there.
i can say it's worth to go and have fun.

I would suggest you head to continental europe. With respect to food and budget there are lots of choices for you, and you can find a veggie restaurants at every corner.
