I thought I could check any passport questions (US) on the US Department of State web sight. I am not very computer efficient so could not find the information I need. Travel agent was no help. My question: How do I find out if my passport will be valid in certain countries within the 6 months of it expiring? My passport expires in March 2010 and I will be cruising from Hawaii to Australia until November 3, 2009.Thanks for your help.

Check with the country you're visiting. In this case Australia. You could call their embassy in Washington at 202-797-3000 or go to their web site: www.usa.embassy.gov.au
Why not be on the safe side and just renew your passport; you're going to have to anyway so just do it early.
I would also renew it. Your passport will only be valid for 4 months once you arrive.
You also need a visa, but you can get an electronic one. Can purchase at airport too.
