Needed help on transportation in UK
My 3 week trip inUK
I Will be staying at Maidenhead
If I buy 7 day travel card zone1-6 season ticket from maidenhead to london paddington
I understand that I will be able to travel from maidenhead to paddington and from paddington throughout london,so I don't have to buy an oster card? Is it correct?
And after 7day I will be travel mostly on a day trip. Such as oxford,cambridge,bath,and more but I want to go to Scotland too.but I have no idea about the transpotation in Scotland.
What I want to ask is what is the cheapest way to go to scotland? like Should i catch a train to liverpool and from liverpool to scotland? Or should I go directly from london to scotland? Any idea?

You might start by explaining why you are staying jn Maidenhead if you want to visit London. Because people will ask.
Why would you go to Liverpool to go to Scotland? Sounds like you need to read some guidebooks. Also, for UK trains use nationalrail.co.uk

Maidenhead is not in London, so the Tube doesn't go there. It's well beyond Zone 6.
There's another thread in the Europe forum a couple of years ago that suggests you can buy a 7-day commuter rail pass that has a Tube Zone 1--6 add-on, but that would be different from a regular Zone 1-6 travel card. Read that thread here: http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...ide-london.cfm

You really should re-post on the Europe forum . . . But first of all you need to get a good map.
Maidenhead is not a good base for visiting London daily, nor is it convenient for Cambridge. It takes 2.5 hours and two changes each way. Bath takes 90 minutes and a transfer. Even Oxford which is pretty close to Masidenhead requires an hour and one change of trains. Maidenhead just is not an easy place to tour around from . . . . .
And where does Liverpool come into it? Unless you specifically want to visit Liverpool there is no reason to go anywhere near there. You board a train at London Kings Cross and less than 4.5 hours later you step off in the center of Edinburgh.
