NEED URGENT DESTINATION ADVICE!

Hi, I am still very undecided about where to take my holiday next year :/ I have 2 weeks on my hands (I could stretch to 17 days maximum) on my hands, and I will be leaving around 30th June/1st July 2015. Travelling will be two adults and a 16 year old child, who is keen to become a diver. I don't really want to go to North America or Europe, as this is where all of our previous trips have taken place. So is there anywhere you could recommend? Maybe even a multi centre? We love animals and as I meant the son is keen to get his diving license. The budget is £4500 and meals need to be either Bed and Breakfast, Half Board, Full Board or All Inclusive. Also could the rooms be Free Cancellation? Destinations we are interested in are :

Indonesia (Bali), Thailand (Ko Samui), Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia (KL, Borneo, Penang), Mauritius, Mexico (Riviera Maya), Barbados, Caribbean Cruise, Cuba.

Thanks

You have several detailed responses on your other threads. Those forums are much more active than this one.

I'd suggest you top you other threads asking for additional advice and/or start new threads on the Asia/Mexico/Caribbean boards.

Hi Jack! There are actually a lot of places that will suit your travel preference. Tropical countries (especially in SE Asia) have great diving destinations and would be less expensive than other destinations.

for the best value for money I would choose Bali. July should have great weather and, if you avoid the big resort hotels, accomodation is excellent and inexpensive. Have a look on booking.com where many of the places offer free cancellation. Food is inexpensive and very good, away from the hotels. There are some great dive sites in the north near Permuteran, Menjagan Island and on the west coast. All of the dive operators will offer PADI ow courses at reasonable prices but do choose carefully some are much better than others.

What's so URGENT about it if it isn't till next summer?

Your questions are not anything that a travel agent couldn't help you with. They require no specific knowledge of a place that someone here might have and you have provided no criteria that is unusual either. You are a typical family looking for a typical package holiday, that's who travel agent are most familiar with and in fact most who post here are NOT as familiar with. This is not a travel agency.

why there is no Japan on the list? I would highly recommend Japan for perfect vacation, especially in summer, they have endless fireworks for kanto region.
