We are six old friends planning our 50th birthday celebration. We are looking at the month of May, and want something on the East Coast, warm, with some beach/water. Don't need a big nightlife, somewhere pretty and quiet where we can feel pampered. IDEAS????? Thanks!

I would highly recommend Melbourne Beach, Florida. There are many vacation rentals/condos available, right on the beach with private access to the ocean. I would stay away from the big touristy hotels and instead opt for a smaller, quieter resort further south. Downtown Melbourne also has a lot of lovely restaurants and shops. If you decide to go, make sure to eat at The Mansion (thebigmansion.com). They have excellent food, wine, and a ton of great beers on tap. Even though I live just a few hours south of Melbourne Beach, vacationing there is a whole different world compared to Miami. Enjoy and have fun!
Yes Melbourne Beach, Florida is a good choice.
Somewhere on the Southern Gulf Coast of Florida.

Captiva Island Florida or Sanibel
Where are you coming from? Flying or driving? Weekend trip or for a week? In Florida I would suggest Siesta Key or Naples. The Outer Banks of North Carolina is another idea. You could rent a house for the six of you but most rentals are for a minimum of a week. If you are flying it's not easy to get to, the airport is a little over an hour away.
