I've been researching language schools in Montpellier and I have found that the choices are numerous and I'm at a lost to pick the right one. I'm looking for a school that has a solid group of French teachers and perhaps some culinary courses as well. So far, I really like the Institut Culturel Francais' APRE program because it looks like they have a team of specialized language teachers. I'm also looking at the Accent Francais and IMEF programs because they offer cooking classes. Has anyone studied in Montpellier? Any words of wisdosm? Which schools have the most qualified professors? Which school has the best cultural, culinary program? Thanks.

I have studied two times at Accent Francais. The first time (april 2005) I took a two-week Standard Plus 2 course and had an excellent experience. Very dynamic teachers and I was amazed at how well they integrated new students into the class each week. We had six students the first week, four the second week. I had one primary professor and two others and felt very much that they were interested in my progress. Unfortunately I did not have as good an experience in October 2006 when I returned for one week and was put into a class of nine, primarily female students on their gap year. I also had five different professors as the school was very busy and brought in some outside professors I think.
That being said, the experience the first year was excellent enough that I would consider returning again. The school was in an excellent location and the staff very helpful and friendly. I did not experience their culinary sessions.
