Is winter nice season to visit Hallstatt, Austria ?

Hey guys, Im planning a trip to munich for a few days, and i would like to go -by car- for one or two nights to hallstatt. I ve seen the amazing pictures of Hallstatt with the lake and the forest , but Im not sure if its gonna be the same awsome scenery visiting Hallstatt in January. is it the winter nice season for this trip?? any ideas???
p.s. i can't find hallstatt hotel's websites, of they are not so helpful. any advice to manage my accomodation there??
