Hello,
My husband and I would like to take a 10 day trip the last week of October with our 2 year old. We would like to stay in the USA or Europe. It would be great to rent a house for a week since hotels can be exhausting with a toddler. Somewhere with a great city or smaller town with shops/restaurants and also a wonderful area to take walks/hikes, etc..
We originally thought of New England, but realized it would be too late to see the fall colors. Any ideas would be great!
Thanks!
Ideas for October travel with 2 year old???

How about The Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway? http://www.washingtoncounty.com/Skyline_Drive_Fall_Colors-a-1333.html
Look for a place near Front Royal Virginia.
Come back north on I-81 through the Shenandoah Valley.
How about London or Paris? Post on the Europe board for ideas for Europe.

I was quite inspired by posts from a Fodorite called Sally30, who has a few good trip reports about travelling with a young child / children to Europe - she showed me that if you take it slowly and are prepared to stick to one destination you can do quite well. Here is one example:

I've also got 2 TRs on travelling with a toddler on a plane
