Hi all,
This is my first time on this site...and it's been so helpful already. My fiance and I are planning our Tahiti honeymoon for October of this year (we just decided to make the switch from Hawaii and it sounds like we made a good decision). I've been looking at different online travel sites such as TahitiMoons.com, TahitiLegends.com, Thehoneymoon.com and happyvacations.com. Is anyone familiar with any of these or are there any recommendations people have had good luck with?
It seems like the typcial honeymoon package includes Moorea and Bora Bora. I've checked out both but Moorea seems to have so much to offer (I am particularly excited about swimming with the dolphins) that we are considering just staying there the whole time (about 8 days)and trying two different hotels (Intercontintental morrea resort and spa and Sofitel) to get a feel for the whole island. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas around this?
I'm trying to gather as much information as I can at this point and would be grateful for any feedback!
Take care and safe traveling!

Hi..
I love the Sofitel Ia Ora and the beach is the best in all of Moorea...married there at the chapel..
love the OWB or beachfront..depends on what kind of deal you can get.
Maku has a shark/dolphin/rays tours..
Sofitel is remodeling and I believe closed till fall so October will be a wonderful time to go..
Intercontinental is on the other end of the island with the dolphin-quest and seems like a great property but have not stayed there..we notice a sulfur smell everytime we go there...
I would do just one hotel..you can rent some cool vespa's or other things from the Sofi hotel..
great package deals from Air Tahiti Nui but have used the likes of Expedia and going direct.
Alfredo's and Blue Pineapple at Cooks Bay is delicous.
Moorea is stunning..it has everything!
Bora Bora is wonderful but even more expensive..snorkeling/diving is better..
taking the ferry over from Tahiti/Moorea is great and takes about an 1 .hour+..
I suggest spending only 1 day/night for arrival/departure to the Mainland.
The Sofitel Maeva is a good reasonable place on Tahiti..do try and go to the marche in town..
Congrat's on your marriage and you couldn't have picked a more beautiful place for your honeymoon!

props to you in general for going to tahiti! ive been to moorea....my parents named me after it...and tahiti they are so beautiful enjoy yourselves!
We went with Tahiti Legends for planning our honeymoon and they were so great and helpful. we went to Moorea and Bora Bora. The Moorea Sheraton had amazing snorkeling right off our OWB. Bora Bora was so beautiful. Glad we saw both.
