Guide Publication Dates FIXED?
Hey there,
I was wondering how reliable Fodors publication dates are.
the one i'm eyeballing for is supposed to be on the market on 21 July 2011
I am travelling on 29th...is it worth the gamble?
it's Fodor's Moscow & St. Petersburg, 9th Editioon [Paperback]
They don't reply to 2 emails regarding that question so I try it here. anyone has an idea?
thx a lot!

I'm never attached to the date of a guidebook. Anything I would want to see in Moscow and St. Petersburg has been there for years and hasn't changed. If you want advice on where to eat, ask on the Europe Forum.
If you want advice on where to stay, google.
Good luck and have fun.

thx for your replies!
For me an up-to-date guide is always essential.
Nice that sights have been there for years, but that's not much of use if the opening hours changed and I'm standing in front of closed doors just as an example.
@Doug
when is there a reliable quote possible on the final release date?

Generally, Amazon.com has the most up to date information on all book release dates (especially within a few months of publication). Most publishers (including Random House) feed this information to Amazon.com on an ongoing basis. If Amazon still shows July 26, you can probably count on it because books for that release date are already in our warehouse.
