Unfortunately we have left it late due to family circumstances this year to book our xmas break and need help. There is myself and my better half (both mid 40's) and we are looking for a two week holiday in the sun , not too adventurous over xmas and the new year. Have been to Mexico , Egypt , Gambia, Canary Islands and the Caribbean in past and fancied something different. Only problem is it can't be more than 10 hour flight from Gatwick - she insists. Can be hotel based or a cruise but would like hot(ish) weather. Any suggestions as I am stumped. One thought was Cuba and wondered if any good over xmas?
Can anyone help please ?

I'd go back to Mexico. Surely you haven't been everywhere? it's a pretty huge country! I love how festive it is there in the towns & cities over the holidays, and the weather can be counted on to be pretty much perfect.
Aruba?
India? Although it will be crowded over Christmas. Is it more than 10 hours? Would be easier if you told us miles - plus have you tried drawing a circle on a map or globe and seeing what's inside?
