If so, how you do like this method? I have been using CD's and DVD's to show my photos, but now I'm considering using an external hard drive.. I have all of my photos stored on 2 external drives, as well as my computer. I would get a third one for TV use.
Do you use an external hard drive to show your photos on T.V.?

Does your tv support having an external drive hooked up to it (either via Firewire or USB)?
If your tv does support it, why not just use one of your existing drives? Or were planning on keeping it permanently attached?
My tv has a USB port, but it's only for upgrading the televison firmware; I can't use it to plug in a flash drive or external HDD. I can hookup my laptop to the tv and have done that for photo/video viewing.
Yes, my tv's do support the drives. Getting a 3rd one is due to paranoia!
Thanks!
