I used them to book hotels in Munich and Prague in May. No problems. I don't know their history.

www.booking.com is an awesome company european in origin

recently bought by priceline use them a bunch...

Best most honest reviews for REAL guests unlike all the

faked on Tripadvertizer/Expedia

The other cool thing is they do not charge your card

till you actually stay at the hotel.

Their search features are great too like for hotels

with free shuttle distances landmarks.

For the last decade using them have had 0 problems.

Have used their site many times with no problems. Their customer service was very good and helped me out of a jam when I showed up at my London hotel insisting that I had a reservation. When I made the reservation, I booked it for several months out instead of the correct dates. The front desk got on the phone to booking.com's customer service and worked out everything for me - including the rate that had been quoted which was not the correct rate for that time. I highly recommend this booking site.

Not really much of a history. But we've done some transactions before and I had no problem dealing with them. Their service is okay so I could recommend it for you.

I have used them consistently the last 2 years and find them very reliable, with a wide range of hotels. I would say we have a 95% success rate where we gladly return to the same hotel given the opportunity, and the remaining 5% would be good but willing to try another place for various reason. Haven't had any poor/terrible stays, but I also spend a lot of time researching before choosing.

I have only had one problem for a reservation, in Titisee, Germany. Several days after making the reservation on-line I was contacted by the B & B owner herself who stated she had not checked her reservation system in several days and in the meantime had booked her last room, so even though booking.com showed it as confirmed there was no room available.

I'll never know if she really had replaced my one-night reservation for someone else who had perhaps called her directly wanting to stay a week or something, which is a possibility, but I contacted booking.com via their email system and they responded very shortly with other options(within an hour maybe). Anyway, I was very pleased with their handling of the incident and I do not feel they were directly at fault.

They also follow-up on all stays and inquire on your satisfaction, so I feel they make and honest attempt to keep track of and weed out those few participating members that are problematic/poor quality.

Good Luck, Sunny!

i've used them several times for booking hotels both in the UK and in the US, only thing i didn't like was that for the US it couldn't tell me how much the taxes were whereas for the UK they were included in the price

A hotel I booked through booking.com just refused to refund $860 for an accidental doublebooking, when the reason I inadvertently doublebooked was booking.com's failure to send me a confirmation email or to display on my account the original reservation. In a panic, I thought I didn't have a reservation, so I made one - only to find I already had one, just had no confirmation of it. Booking.com claims they asked the Colour Hotel (Frankfurt) to refund me and the hotel refused, but I wouldn't have made the error had my original reservation appeared at booking.com or had they sent me a confirmation email. I'm out $860. You can bet I'll never use them again.
