Beach trips?

Im not really a big fan of the beach, but I have a question for my fellow solo travellers who do enjoy going on beach trips: where do you keep your stuff when you're in the ocean??

I choose a place near a nice large family and leave my stuff with them.

I carry only a straw basket with a beach towel, sunhat, sunscreen, paperback, bottle of water, disposable camera, and coin purse with less than $20. I leave my room key with the hotel front desk.

I carry the minimum (towel, sunscreen, only a small amount of cash, etc.) and use several zip top plastic bags in a fanny pack or a waterproof holder to keep the money and my room key in the event I decide to go swimming.

I would say the same as Suze. In addition, if I have a car key, I would remove anything not waterproof from the keychain and attach it to my swimsuit.
