Base city in England
I shall have a few days only in England at the end of May and would like to know which of the two cities would make a better base from which to take either day trips or a short (3-4 days) tour : Oxford or Bath?
It seems that there are more tours available from Bath, but perhaps I haven't searched enough.
I shall have six days available and will already be in Oxford ,so would have to take a train to Bath if that were to be my base city.
Or should I just get to London and start from there.?
I am traveling alone and am 85 ,but in excellent health, but too much walking around with a suitcase might do me in!

Welcome to Fodors. This board is for general travel tips, you will get much more help if you repost this on the Europe board, tagged for the UK.
You should also indicate whether you have been to England before, and what your main interests are.

I have been to England and Wales before. . I would like to see The Cotswolds which are accessible from both Bath and Oxford. I have also been to Stonehenge and Stratford on Avon, as well,as spending some time in London. I am interested in scenery, nature, culture and history of England.

renibob85: You may not have understood what thursdaysd posted. You need to re-post over on the Europe forum -- see the "Change Forum" pull down menu? Click that and then click on Europe and start a new thread.
There you can tag your thread for the UK so many people will see your questions there. I have several ideas for you -- but to avoid having to post things twice, I'll wait til you have a thread over on Europe.

Bath has a lot to see for a tourist, many tours and the old Roman historical sights, you can end a long days walking with a relaxing session at the Thermae Spa Baths too, which have a top floor outdoor spa pool.
You could also then take the train to the centre of Bristol (15-20mins and around £5 return) and see the sights there; SS Great Britain, The Matthew, Brandon Hill/Tower, Cathedral etc.
