Babymoon w/ toddler Fall Ideas (Zika)

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are trying to plan a vacation for November of this year, leaving from Chicago. She will be ~ 5 months pregnant and our son would be and our son would be ~18 months old. We are trying to plan a trip that would be fun for all of us but most of the warmer places are limited by Zika.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a fun trip for us? Ideally somewhere in the Midwest that we could drive to over a day or two (we haven't flown with him yet).

Right now all we have thought of is Austin or San Diego.

Welcome to Fodors mbiszew. See the 'Change Forum' pull down menu? Click that and re-post on the United States board.

IMO San Diego would be great. But obviously you'd want to fly if you are in the MidWest.

You might want to consider Sedona and Scottsdale. You could go to Sedona for a few nights then head down to Scottsdale for the remainder of your holiday. Sedona has an average high and low of 66 and 39 degrees in November. I realize Sedona is cooler than you indicated however it is beautiful there and you will be rewarded with stunning views. With Scottsdale the average high and low is 74 and 49 degrees.

Have a wonderful time with your family!

Cuba is on level 2 alert for Zika.

From the link:
"What can travelers do to prevent Zika?
Pregnant women should NOT travel to areas with risk of Zika. This is because Zika infection during pregnancy can cause serious birth defects."
