Art supplies/carry on
I will be attending an art class/seminar/retreat in Italy. I will need to take a few art supplies. Acrylic paint, gel medium, paint brushes etc. If put into a zip-loc qt. bag can they be taken in my carry on luggage? Or will I have to check the bag through? What about other "personal" products that don't fall into the 3-1-1- catagory? Tweezers, mirror, earplug, razor, pills and makeup etc
Any info greatly appreciated, Thanks

The only things that need to be in the one quart bags are liquids and gels, whether paint or toiletries, and each must be in a container of three ounces or less.
There are no restrictions on the other items you mentioned.

I think turpentine would be a flammable, and therefore not allowed in carryon luggage. The others I'm not sure about - but check the TSA website, that should be your definitive guide. Take a copy with you if you feel you might need to argue with the moat dragons.
I would recommend checking it all. Razor (unless it's a safety razor) might be a problem if it's a naked blade, as in to scrape paint off a palette.
