I am planning to arrive in Costa Rica for the first time, I am staying 3 months. I am a daily alcohol drinker. I enjoy wines mostly. How much does it cost and where do they sell it? Should I buy some at the airport? Also, any reccomendations on Playo del Coco? That is where we will be staying.

Welcome to Fodor's, Debra.
There is a separate forum for Mexico and Central America, where you will get many more answers to this question. See "Change Forum" in blue at the top of this page, and repost to catch the eye of the Costa Rican regular visitors.
I always go to Mexico, not Costa Rica, but I buy my wine at the grocery store or a corner market. It costs similar to what I pay at home in Seattle. Mostly it is Mexican and Chilean wines that are available. There are also imports such as from California but they cost quite a bit more.
Auto Mercado, the leader Chain of supermarkets(supermercados) in Costa Rica has a new El Coco store your best bet in that area with the best selection of Wines and Liquors albeit it at a bit more of a price. If you need superspecial vintages might have a look at the airport otherwise you should be fine.
Happy Journey,
Wines are sold, but not as commonly as in the US. However, if you fly into Liberia, there is an Americanized grocery there. It's an impressively nice grocery for Costa Rica. It's about a mile or so from the airport in Liberia town.
