Which Amazon area/lodge in Peru?

Jump to last reply

We (couple in our 50s) are considering a 4-5 nights stay at an Amazonian lodge as part of a longer Peru trip in July-August 2018 (Sacred Valley, Cusco and Machu Picchu). We are looking for good diverse wildlife viewing, but not to rough it. For now, we are only trying to determine which area would be the best for us, and we are comparing Tambopata and Manu.
We are also considering a trip to the Pantanal/Brazil for the following year, and we are concerned that the 2 environments might be too similar? Same animals/birds in both areas? Should we maybe consider Iquitos instead? Or maybe just a totally different area of Peru?
Any thoughts and ideas would be great, thanks.
