Chile is remarkable, but we would once again fly into EZE (BsAs) and out of SCL (Santiago).
You'll save some serious tax/fee/visa dinero.
We preferred the two cities, but a trip to Iguazu and Bariloche/Puerto Varas and the Colchagua Valley were first/one time great.
Hate cold, snow, and glacier stuff.

I agree with mikemo that it is better to enter Chile by road especially if you have a several people traveling together. It saves the $100/person entry-by-air tax. Since you will likely be driving from Bariloche, AR you can explore the lake district of central Chile. If you want to go to the closest part of the Pacific coast, check out Niebla. It is an old post, but if you do a search on 'Niebla', you will find a more complete description of our experience two years ago.
