Trip report/blog - Machu Picchu and the Amazon Rainforest

I want to share my Peru trip report with you! Some friends and I went to Peru for 2 weeks. We acclimated in Cusco for a few days before we embarked on a 4 day hike to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu. We ended our trip with a leisurely few days in the Amazon rainforest.

Here's my blog post with pictures, itinerary, accommodations, and tips:

Thanks for reading and feel free to post questions!

Nice pictures. We received a different story from our guide, also from Llama Path. He said if a person was sick or injured they would be helped to whichever end of the trail was closest. And that would sometimes mean being carried by the porters. Thankfully we had no problems.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your feedback!

colduphere - I think it depends on your guide and porters. I think if you were really injured they would help of course. We had 3 people who were iffy but hearing that you had walk on your own made us all toughen up and keep going. One person was getting over some stomach problems, another had mild altitude sickness (tired, no appetite), and I had an injured knee that was swelling up.
