I will be in Chile all of July with a 13 and 16 year old. I have yet to set out our itinerary so I am looking for suggestions on regions/cities to visit and those really cool places/sites/restaurants not listed in a tour book. Any suggestions?

If you like skiing, here is the place.About 50 min from SAntiago is el colorado ski center or more exclusive will be La parva.
Vina del Mar is nice for spend a weekend,is a nice place in the beach,Valparaiso is a port qith magic.
I rec. you the north (San Pedro de Atacama)you have to flight to Calama. is really interesting.I live here if you need more info i work in a travel agency

I have booked a cruise starting in Valparaiso,Chile, I will be flying into
Santiago, how can I get from the airport to Valparaiso?
Go to Pucon. We visited for new Year 2001/2002 and had a wonderful you can swim, rent a boat, walk do lots of day trip we were nto with kids but saw lots of families (Chilean families as well always a good sign).
