Tours to Macchu Picchi During High Season!!!
Help! Help, por favor! A good friend of mine has booked flights to Peru and has made other travel arrangements to Cuzco during January of 2011. As of date she wants to go to Machu Picchu but has NOT made any arrangements for tours of this magnificent site or for lodging.
Would you suggest that she maKe these arrangements now since she'll be traveling during the "high season?" <I'll await your input.> Gracias!

June, July, and August are regarded as the tourists high season in Peru. I haven't heard about January being lumped as such. I think it's rainy during January also.
What kind of Machu Picchu touring arrangement is you friend considering? Is he/she thinking about doing the Inca Trail ?

January is generally LOW season unless you are talking about right around the holidays.
She can just go online and book whatever hotel she wishes, plus to Perurail.com for her train tickets to Aguas Calientes. Guides can be hired at the entrance to MP.
