I thought you didn't need to buy tickets in advance to hike Machu Picchu Mountain, but on the MP website there's an option for "Machupicchu - Montana Machupicchu 7:00 - 11:00". Does this mean I should buy this option and it's good to hike Mt. MP? Do we have to go at 7:00, or is this a window of time we can start our hike? (My Spanish isn't very good yet so the site is confusing me...)
Thanks so much for your insight!

Ciudad Inka MaPi = is the entrance for Machu Picchu.
Machupicchu y museo = entrance to MP and to the museum.
MaPi-Huayna = entrance to MP and access to climb up Wayna Picchu. You can choose one of two groups to do this.
MaPi-Montaña = entrance to Machu Picchu and visiting the mountain of MP. No idea what this is like.
Choose one of the first two unless you have read up on Wayna Picchu and are interested in a somewhat strenuous climb.
And apparently MP mountain (Montaña) is even harder!
We're pretty committed at this point to MP mountain. We'll be coming off the Inca Trail the day before, so it'll either do us in or it'll be a breeze. : )
This website says that last option (Machupicchu - Montana Machupicchu) is new and they aren't sure what it means... anyone have any insight? I don't want to pay for something that isn't what we want, but also want to make sure we get our tickets. http://www.machupicchutickets.com/
Thanks everyone!
That website looks like it was created last August, it doesn't even have correct prices.
If you have questions it would be best to contact the call center, they respond in a few days.
Thanks, mlgb. Do you know if they speak English, or do I need to have some Spanish translations ready?
They have English speaking operators, shutterbug85.
Ok, so my husband talked to them. I wanted to conclude this in case anyone else was looking for the same info. I'll also post a separate thread. We will buy the last option in order to climb Machu Picchu Mountain.
Options for tickets now are:

Hi,
Thanks for posting those details on the break out in tickets. Can anyone who's been there comment on the difference between the Huaynapicchu hike vs. Montana beyond the hour vs. hour and 45 minutes? We are trying to decide which one to do. Not sure we want to do both. Thanks in advance to any who respond.
ncounty did Machu Picchu I remember because of her shoes!

Scroll down and check all of her photo links
You should find lots of photos and reports of HP by searching online if no one answers here, try travelpod
I don't do exposed drop offs...mild vertigo. Walking down from Pisac into town was all I wanted to do.
The Huaynapicchu hike will take you to more archeology sites. The Montana hike is 800 to 1000 higher. I wish it only took me an hour an 45 minutes, guess I'm out of shape. It took me almost three hours to hike up Machu Pichu Mountain.
You don't realize it when at Machu Pichu, but from the top of the mountain the MP site is the only thing semi-flat that can be seen.
As high up as you are on top of the mountain. There are higher mountains all around. Breathtaking.
John - You need to check the dates on posts before you reply. I asked this question back in March - 6 months ago. Already been to Peru and back now!
So Shutterbug85, what did you do? We are leaving on Saturday - CAN. NOT. WAIT.!!!!!
BellaClaire - We bought the MP entrance + Machu Picchu Mountain tickets so we could hike up MP Mountain. Unfortunately that day it rained the entire morning so the hike wasn't the best, but it was still a fun time.
We ended up having our guide in Cusco buy the tickets for us. Nothing we did on our end allowed us to buy them online. It was frustrating!
Hi
If you want to visit Machu Picchu I think is recommendable book all, in advance in order to avoid any problem with the availability.
You can choose entrance only for the citadel or the citadel + Huayna Picchu.
To go to Huayna Picchu you have 2 schedule 07:00 or 10:00.
Good luck and enjoy your trip
Best regards
Sicalodi
Definitely book Huayna Picchu in advance. Depending on the season, you may or may not have to book Machu Picchu in advance. We were just there for 2 days...1 day we booked in advance...then we arrived in Aguas Calientes and our prepaid ticket was for the next morning....well it was only mid-morning....we couldn't help ourselves..we bought a entry ticket and bus ticket and went 2 days in a row....I know they only sell 2500 MP tickets per day...there is a website you can check to see remaining tickets...it's on this forum, I can't remember the URL...
