Has anybody been there and could they please tell me if the swimming pool is any good? I do not really need the swimming itself, only sunbathing a bit before going to Antartica ... 
Any other tips on apartments in Palermo where there is some nice outside space to get a little tan? Thanks !

Looks like you can definitely sunbath. Be prepared for fast sun burning though, the sun is quite strong down here, and you are always walking and out in the sun anyway .. I find it impossible not to get tanned just living here and going about my daily life.
I have not heard anything about this hotel.
Everyone that lives here uses a pool if their building has one or sits in the parks. You can go to a beach but that is hours away.
