Trip Report Taxi tour of Lima - recommendation

Jump to last reply

Just back from Machu Picchu with a long (10-hour) stop-over in Lima before flight back to US. If you're in the same position and are wondering how to take advantage of your time, I highly recommend hiring Renato from taxilimaperu.com. Lima's not an easy city to get around, and there's always the headache of figuring out fares, etc., from the airport, especially if your Spanish isn't great. Renato lived in the US for years before returning to Lima in 2000, so he speaks English extremely well. He also knows the place backwards, has great suggestions for what to see/do in town, but is utterly accommodating of your preferences. He'll get you to and from the airport in great shape and was more than fair when it came time to reckon the bill. Hard to beat!
