Suenos Aires, Argentina vs Lisbon, Portugal

Hi There,
I am planning a trip with my mom & aunt from August 30th thru Sept 5th 2017. I am debating if we should go to BA or Lisbon. Airfare is about the same to both places. I have never been to either place. Thanks for all your help

One consideration may be the weather: August will be winter in Buenos Aires and, I believe, still summer in Lisbon.

Yes, you may want to check historic temperatures at weatherunderground.com.

Having said that, I have been to both cities, BA once and Lisbon multiple times, and I much preferred Lisbon. Excellent setting on the river, excellent public transport, good small museums, plus Belem, Sintra, Cascais and Estoril in easy distance. Also somewhat less likely to encounter scams and pickpockets.

For one of my trips to Lisbon see:

For BA start here (links at the top of the page):

That's funny, we went to Buenos Aires for a 2 week vacation .. my husband had retired and we had moved to live in Portland Oregon.
We were getting bored .. one day my husband put down a magazine he had been reading and said, Hey, how would you like to go to Buenos Aires ...
Being a person that almost always says yes to a Trip ... I agreed he had a good idea and we went for 10 days.

We moved there to live about 2 months later ... we lived there for 7 years.
We left for personal reasons, nothing to do with the place, we would still be there if not for that one little personal reason.

So I am not one of those people that thinks a week or two is enough .. give me years
