since I don't speak spanish or portuguese and only english how easy is it to get around san paolo. Where would you reccommend I stay and how easy is it to get to Ignazu Falls.

Spanish would not be much of a help in São Paulo, they speak Portuguese. You can get around fairly easily without Portuguese if you are just going to the main tourist areas. Hotels etc have English speakers and often restaurants have an English version of the menu.
Staying around Avenida Paulista gives you easy access to the subway system and buses and it is well located for bars and restaurants.
