Recommend Peru Tour Companies?

A friend and I are looking to book a trip to Peru in August. We are interested in visiting Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and the Amazon. We have 12-14 days. Any suggestions on decent tour companies that I might check with?

Thank you,
Yukon_XL

Based on budget of course

kuodatours.com

ancientsummit.com Nina

perubesttours.com Mike

peruforless.com Susanna/Hortense

all get great reviews here.

always pay with CC never wire money

insuremytrip.com always wise for weather strikes etc.

Happy Planning,

Might also look at OAT expecially if you are older and want a US based company. Second hand recommendation. I found Peru very easy to self-plan but if you are a nervous Nellie then those are good recommendations above.

We recently did 14 days in Peru with Ancient Summit doing much of what you have on your list and it was outstanding. Nina (at Ancient Summit) can tailor an itinerary to your budget. Our trip review is on Fodors..

You can book directly at your Amazon Lodge (usually Explorama is considered the best out of Iquitos) but there are other options, eg I stayed at Tahuayo Lodge, aka Amazonia Expeditions). They will arrange all transfers and can book flights as well, although those can be done online.

There is really no reason to use someone like Sofia Barreda if you are comfortable booking your hotels over the internet, all hotels can arrange transfers from the airport and local taxis and tours.

We have been very happy with our dealings with Peru Best Tours but have not gone on our trip yet. They have been very responsive and helpful so far. I will post when we return but you may need an answer before that as our trip isn't until October.

Happy planning!

Was probably topped by an advertisement but I think qwovadis' list is still pretty good.

Nice to see his name again. Wonder what he's up to. I think he was kicked off of tripadvisor for giving good (objective) advice not in keeping with the desires of the DE and other experts with a finger in the tourism pie.
