Any sites that are "must sees"?
Any good restaurant recommendations?

Hi Fairly,
The Hotel Quito is an older hotel that's in a safe area an easy taxi ride to wherever in Quito you are going. It has a large outdoor pool but the brisk weather in Quito isn't that conducive to swimming. I would make one suggestion though, if you can get a similar rate at the Swissotel Quito it's worth changing as it is more luxurious and in a slightly better location. Quito is a beautiful city with lots of sites. The tourist strip on and around Avenida Amazonas has lots of shops and restaurants. The must sees in Quito are numerous, get a good guide book, but I would make special mention of the colonial area around the presidential palace and also the traditional food markets that can be found all over town. Have fun.
Quito is beautiful! and cheap too.
you have to visit different churches, and the Basilica in Quito Colonial.
If time enough you should go to Otavalo on Saturday for the Market, touristy but a must.
In Quito: Restaurant la Rotonda or la Ronda (not sure of name), offers a great menu with Ecuadorian Food and it's very safe, also Many good restaurants on Camala street including the best Internet Cafes...too.
Amazonas street is also a must.
Enjoy Quito, I love it!
