I have to spend the night in Quito before flying to the Galapagos. Can anyone suggest a decent hotel to stay in near the airport. I arrive late and leave early so amenities and such are not important. Although any advice on a good restaurant would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey again TinyBeachBum,
What time are you arriving in Quito? Do you know if you'll be flying into the new airport?
the Sheraton, the Swiss Hotel and the Marriot are all nice but pricey. If your looking for something a little less expensive let me know I'd be glad to give you a list of good options.
As for reasturants in Quito. If your there for just one night go to the Pims located at el Panecillo. The view at night is increadble. It's a little pricey ($15-$25) and will take you about 1/2 an hour to get to but it's worth it for the view. Be sure to have the receptionist at your hotel reserve a window table for you at Pims so you can enjoy the view.
If you think you just want to get to your hotel and grab a quick bite before crashing out. Let me know where you decide to stay and I'd be happy to give you some good options nearby.
Best
Greg
