Can anyone recommend a tour guide for PV and Chiloe? We are spending 4 nights (I think 2 nights PV, 1 night Chiloe, 1 night PM). Would like to horseback ride for a few hours in PV, see the penguins at the Otway foundation in Chiloe, and do a little hiking. Has anyone used Aquamotion? We will have a car (not 4x4) so we could do Chiloe ourselves - can you just show up to the beach to take the Zodiak tours to the penguins? What would you recommend for good short hikes and horsebackrides near PV?
THanks a lot

Hello, for Chiloe, a tour guide I highly recommend is Richard Dodge, (richard.dodge@gmail.com). For Puerto Varas, you might try Kit Nuzum (kit@orcasonline.com).
Re: horseback riding near Puerto Varas, you might ask Quinta del Lago (www.quintadellago.com, barbesco@hotmail.com)
Aquamotion is also reputable and good in general for outdoor excursions..
Short hikes, depends, Alerce Andino Park is good but it would consume most of your day. Saltos del Petrohue, which is basically a hike to waterfalls inside Vicente Rosales Park, can be done in 1-2 hours..If you want a really relaxing walk with a bit of culture (and good coffee and German-style pastries), you might consider a visit to the waterfront of nearby Frutillar..
