Hello all,
The old lady and I are traveling to Peru with the focus on Machu Picchu. We're flying in to Lima.
How much travel time should we leave for transfers from hotel to airport or hotel to train station?
Lima to Cuzco?
Cuzco to Aguas Calientes?
Thanks

If you are arriving into Lima and will need to spend the night before flying out to Cusco, it can take an hour and $20 each way, between the airport and the Miraflores hotels. Therefore many people decide to spend the night at the airport Ramada hotel if going straight to Cusco. The flights take about
The Cusco airport is small and near the city of Cusco. Takes maybe 15 minutes into Cusco itself, or
you could start in one of the Sacred Valley towns such as Ollantaytambo, Pisac or Urubamba. Ollantaytambo is a town where most of the trains leave from. It takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours under normal conditions to get to Ollantaytambo. But at the moment, conditions are not normal, as the main bridge at Urubamba was damaged just before the New Year and is not open.
If you are taking the train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes you can find the train times on the Peru Rail website. Allow about 20 minutes to get from Cusco city to the train station in Poroy, and I believe they ask for a half-hour lead time to check in.
