I'm starting to plan my trip to Peru for May. I'm thinking I'll have time for two out of these four:
Cusco / Machu Pichu
Arequipa / Colca Canyon
Iquitos or Puerto Maldonado
Puno / Lake Titicaca
Which would you choose?
Can anyone see going to Peru and skipping Machu Pichu?

I would chose Cusco/Machu Picchu hands-down. Second choice would be Puno/Lake Titicaca. I think that each of these experiences though honestly are worth the trip to Peru and it ultimately comes down to what you're interested in doing during your stay in Peru.
Happy travels,

No, you pretty much have to do it.
Maybe the Amazon would be second, if you don't mind humidity, heat and bugs.
Of the four, Lake Titicaca would be at the bottom of my list, but if you continue on to Bolivia then I liked that side better. Puno is not an attractive town, and the Uros Islands are like a floating zoo where you are trapped for an hour and pressured into buying trinkets. I did like the cruises on the lake, though.
