Packing for Peru trek

We are going on a lodge-to-lodge trek in mid-March (7 days total, 6 of which we are hiking). They suggest bringing both a fleece and an insulated jacket (synthetic or down). Among these, which would you recommend:

(FWIW, when I walked yesterday in San Francisco - about 3-1/2 miles in about 59 degrees), I was wearing a light long sleeve shirt. Even my track jacket was too hot).
